Savannah's tourism website, Visit Savannah says it best... "Savannah, Georgia is a charming Southern escape where art, period architecture, trendy boutiques and ghost stories are all set under a veil of Spanish moss. Savannah is a place where cuisine comes straight from the coast and cocktails are served at every meal."  Few American cities rival Savannah for its combination of historical, architectural and cultural attractions.

My only visit to Savannah was a brief 2-hour tour in 2013 on our way to Key West. It was a damp, overcast Sunday... when cars park on the street in the Historic District. Although the conditions were not ideal, Savannah's beauty, charm and vitality shined brightly. The stunning parks, trees and foliage are unlike any other American city. Our 2013 itinerary allowed for no further exploration, but I got a brief, wonderful taste of Savannah... and vowed to return.

The opportunity has arrived. I'm excited about taking a closer look at this beautiful city in late-July.

So far, our itinerary includes:

• A walking tour

• A carriage or trolley tour

• Savannah cuisine

Specifics are coming soon, and we will add more...

Check in mid-late August for an article with travelogues, photos and experiences.
